A Little Thing Called Love [Movie Post]

Thanks to Daphne, i got to watch a really awesome movie today. When she told me she had a must-watch Thai movie for me, i was skeptical cos i don't usually watch Thai movies.
Not to mention that i wasn't used to the language.
Little did i know that i fell in love with the whole thing.. =)

"A Little Thing Called Love"

“All of us have someone who is hidden at the bottom of our heart. When we think of them, we will feel like ummm… always feel a little pain inside, but we still want to keep him. Even though I don’t know where he is today, what he is doing, but he is the one that makes me know this - a little thing called love.”

First up, the synopsis.
The first few minutes into the movie, we can basically conclude that this is another ugly-duckling-turns-into-a-swan story. However,as the storyline moves on, it progresses with an interesting twist.
The result? An unpredictable ending.
It is so not your usual tacky "and they lived happily ever after" story.

I think the main reasons for liking this movie include:

1)The innocence of the characters.
I guess this is because most of the story is told in the schooling period of the characters, which means lots of cute and adorable scenes, funny scenes and those scenes that remind us of our childhood crush(es).

2)The love line.

The persistence of a young girl for her crush and all the fluffy scenes made me go "awww" so much. I love the way Nam (the female lead) is portrayed by the actress. Her awesome spazzing and squealing and jumping excitedly got me laughing and smiling all the way.

I also like how this scene is played out. So heartwrenching. ugh.

3)The friendship.

I like how the main characters are focused on the "less popular" cliques in school. Most of us can relate to these girls and their love for each other is so cute. This is the part which made me both laugh and cry. Nam's friends created so many hilarious scenes to make the movie far more enjoyable than any other love comedy. Don't even talk about the scene which made me cry, it was so touching and sweet it made me wanna hug somebody and bawl my eyes out.

4) Mario Maurer aka Shone aka The Eye Candy.

He is the lengzai, he's sweet and kind, he's the lead guy.
Need i say more?
PS: Googled him and found out that he's a mix of thailand, german and chinese descent. Talk about good genes.

I'm not gonna say more in case i spoil everything already. So guys, go watch it if you like sweet romance comedies. =)
